This cemetery was once property of the Myrtle Tree Baptist Church. The church was first organized in April of 1830
under the direction of Reverend William Fusion. John Harnest Sr was a fellow soldier with William Fusion and was the
first baptized at the church and the first burial. The church was literally burned to the ground in 30-Oct-1985 and
was rebuilt. This cemetery is active as of March 2013.
There is also a small family cemetery within the boundaries of Myrtle Tree. This cemetery was incorporated into Myrtle
Tree at the building of route 36.
