|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Mission Hill Cemetery is located outside of Smolan, KS. From I-135, take the Smolan exit and go west. Pass through the town of Smolan. On the west side of Smolan you will come to Burma Road. Turn left (heading south) for approximately one mile. Turn left (heading east) on Parsons Road (gravel road). The cemetery is about 2/10 of a mile from Burma Road, on the left side. The signage for the cemetery is set back off the road, so not highly visible. There are a couple of trees and some bushes flanking the road back to the cemetery.
This cemetery is still active and is in perpetual care. There used to be a church, called the Mission Hills Church, a Covenant Church built by Swedish settlers, on-site but it has been gone for years. There is a plinth on the small hill next to the cemetery (on cemetery grounds) that tells about the church and settlers.
