|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This is a small family cemetery that is located on the property also known as Edge Hill (see the National Register of Historic Places - 83003264 NRIS). Surrounded by a small, red brick wall, it is just north of the building that was once the Edge Hill Academy for Boys. Although the cemetery appears to have room for more burials, there are only ten (10) markers for thirteen (13) people. The upper section of the cemetery (on the right-hand side) has only 2 markers, and the remainder are in the lower section.
Although members of the Adams family are buried in one section of the cemetery, Lillie Coleman Adams' family were the original owners. In later years, Lillian Dooley Reed, the founder of Historic Fredericksburg, and her husband acquired the property, and members of the Dooley family are buried there as well.
The cemetery is on private property and is not open to the public. Although all pictures have been temporarily removed, each marker was photographed in October 2009. Please do not repost cemetery pictures on other memorials or websites without permission.
