Info about cemetery: In summer of 1968, work was done to recover this lost and uncared for cemetery. As it appeared impossible to maintain individual graves and many markers had apparently disappeared over the years, the markers were gathered up and are preserved in this memorial. The area is now a mini-park dedicated to the memory of those resting here who were among the first to settle this portion of Illinois. Memorial list (picture included) has a list of around 150 people buried here.
