Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Chinn Family Cemetery is actually in Faquier County, just south of the Loudon County line. This Charles Chinn (about 1750-1844) is the son of Charles Downman Chinn, the builder of the house (in about 1766) on Bittersweet Farm. The cemetery lies just behind the house. The stones were removed from their original location and sit as pictured on Find a Grave, by the stone wall, under a red cedar tree. Bittersweet Farm is approximately two miles west of Middleburg (originally Chinn's Crossroads), Virginia, on what is now Highway U.S. 50. |
