On September 2, 1859 the Methodists from Bethlehem Church (Woodlandville) reorganized and were deeded 5 acres of land in the town of Everett for church purposes. Here they built a frame church building, there were three plain glass windows in the north and south walls and the door in the front facing west. A large space was left in the front and on the sides for hitching teams. On the north and east side was the burial grounds. The last person to be buried at the old Everett cemetery was Mr. PW Graves in the early part of 1920. This location is now owned by Eugene Wilhite.
Everett town was situated on Section 2, township 49, range 14 and was laid out in 1859 and 1860. Nothing remains of this town but a few grave stones.
After 41 years, most of the town of Everett had moved away. In 1901 it was decided to move the church to Woodlandville to become the Woodlandville Church.
Wonderful history of the church taken from a book in the GSCM Library "Woodlandville Church" compiled by Rev. Newby, LM Lohman, HC Semon, Mrs. AL McQuitty and Mrs. LS Wegener.
