Cemetery notes and/or description:
This cemetery is not really in Kartah, but I was forced to use that as a community name since there is no better alternative. Locally, the area is just known as Little Sand Mountain. Mailing addresses on the mountain are in Armuchee, which is a town in nearby Floyd county.
The first burial in this cemetery, as noted on her tombstone, was Annie Collins Peyton, who died Jan 15, 1882.
Most of the photos of this cemetery were made in July 2009. Someone (not me) had placed John Deere toy tractors on several of the graves. |
