|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Creswell Cemetery is located in Brushvalley Twp., Indiana Co., PA. It is located on private property behind an old schoolhouse which is now (Aug. 2006) operated by an Amish family as a furniture store. From the center of Indiana at 6th St./Philadelphia St. drive south. South 6th St. turns into State route 954 S. After a few miles outside of town, and after passing over yellow Creek, the road comes to a dead end at StateRoute 56. Take Rte 56 east for two miles until reaching the old schoolhouse. To find the cemetery walk to the left of the building (as you face it from the street), down to the end of the tree line. Turn right (walking away from the road) and and walk down the path down the hill and then up another small hill. The cemetery is on the right (walking away from the street) side (agricultural field oppposite it) covered by heavy brush and trees. The cemetery is surrounded by an old barbed wire fence, with a small opening to walk in from the path. Few stones remain standing; many are buried under greass and weeds. The name of the cemetery is posted on a small brown wooden sign at the far northeast corner of the cemetery.
