Penpont is a small village in the region of Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, two miles west of Thornhill. The previous church built in 1782 and renovated in 1834 was replaced by the existing church in 1867/8, [to the west of the old church]. There were four churches in Penpont, Presbyterian Church, Scuarbridge, Virginhall Free and Burnhead United. The parish now includes Keir and TynronThe re-built church of 1867 was constructed in big-buttressed Gothic style.
