|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Formed by the Bertha Mineral Company, White Top Cemetery was organized for miners and their families in Austinville, Virginia. This cemetery has been used since approximately 1869. Many of the graves have sunk and stones have broken. It covers several acres and is now currently owned by the Austinville Limestone Company. It is located just off of Loafer's Rest Rd. off of the Lead Mines Road, which is accessible by I-77. Wear good shoes to protect your feet. A walking stick may come in handy.
At one time the Trinity Methodist Church was located on this site. For some reason in 1910 the mines decided to move the church. It is now located at the entrance to the mines and still holds service. The building was taken apart and reassembled
