The Uniontown Cemetery came into existence after the Uniontown Church was built in 1830.Until this time most residents of this vicinity had used the old Uniontown Cemetery which lies a short distance back of the present site. At one time there was a small settlement here which was also called Uniontown. The first person buried in the new Uniontown Cemetery was Mrs. Samuel (Susannah) Nickelson, September 24, 1825.
