|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery is located in the extinct Union Township within Bartholomew County. During World War II, a significant portion of Bartholomew County was condemned and confiscated by the US Government for the purpose of constructing the Camp Atterbury military post, which is still in use today. As a result of the federal land-grab, most of Union Township fell within the area taken for Camp Atterbury. Although the subject cemetery was in that part of Union Township that was not taken for Camp Atterbury, Union Township ceased existence as a separate township within Bartholomew County. The remaining portion of land remaining outside of Camp Atterbury in the former Union Township became part of German Township, Bartholomew Co., in 1941. The cemetery is currently maintained by the German Township Trustee.
