77 Main St. Silver Springs, NY 14550
Burials began on this plot in pioneer times when the community was known as East Gainesville. Located on the corner of Duncan Avenue and Main Street, Village of Silver Springs; Tax Map ID 122.20-3-41. As with many cemeteries, some pioneer monuments are worn or broken, sunken and covered with grass or they may never had a monument of lasting quality. The grounds are kept in excellent condition by the Village, the grass mowed, flowers planted, the flag flown and honors paid every Memorial Day. Amsden, Broughton, Lowing, VanLiew and others can be found here at rest. A reading of May 1950 is in the Historical Wyoming of April 1955. The Wyoming County Historian Office, Stanley Rutherford, Town of Gainesville Historian have searched and added to the information for the burials.
