Cemetery notes and/or description:
St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Route 64, Nittany Valley, Porter Twp., Clinton Co., PA
The first regular Lutheran service in Porter Twp., was conducted by Rev. W. L. Heisler in the Mount Bethel German Reformed Church on 17 Feb 1867. Additional services and protracted meetings followed. Persons committed themselves to the Lutheran faith, and a congregation was organized 20 Feb 1869. There were 27 charter members of the congregation.
A meeting was held in the spring of 1869 to erect a church edifice. A brick structure, two stories high, with steeple, 30 feet by 50 feet, was constructed on one acre purchased from Daniel Royer for $200.00. The cornerstone was laid 17 Oct 1869, the building was dedicated 13 Nov 1870
The adjoining cemetery was laid out at the same time. The first burials were Robert Tate, Abraham Pifer, & Mary Snavely, all of whom died in 1870. The cemetery has been operated under the auspices of the church since that time. It is well laid out in plots, and, with the church, is active to this day
