Cemetery notes and/or description:
City Cemetery was originally the last parcel of land acquired by the city for the Founders Cemetery in 1858. This parcel was called the "South Cemetery" but was later renamed "Old City Cemetery" or simply "City Cemetery." Internments are no longer conducted at this cemetery.

City Cemetery is kept locked at all times to deter any additional vandalism. In order to gain access contact the City of Cambridge, Dept of Cemeteries at 740-432-3210 or see a staff member at the Northwood Cemetery office at the North end of 10th Street. If no one is in the office, drive through the cemetery to find a worker. The Cemetery Dept works 7:30-3:30 M-F. |
