Cemetery notes and/or description:
According to the Dallas Texas Genealogical Society and the Dallas Texas Park's Department, Mount Auburn Cemetery, also known as Pauper's Cemetery, was established in 1906 at the intersection of Electra Street and Spring Avenue in Dallas, TX.

The cemetery was divided into two sections. The shorter section, which is located adjacent to one side of Oakland Cemetery, was for Whites. The longer section, on the other side of the White section, was for African Americans.

In 1966, the Dallas Parks Department created a city park, Opportunity Park, on two undeveloped sides of Oakland Cemetery, which encompassed the property of Mount Auburn Cemetery.

It is not known if headstones were removed or built over at the time the park was developed.

Today, of the handful of headstones still visible in the cemetery, only seven are legible.

The park is maintained by the City of Dallas, and park workers take special care to respect and maintain the last of the headstones.
