|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
St John's Lutheran Stone Church is on Stone Church Road in Lancaster Township, Butler County. It was founded in 1806 by John and Anna Catherine Beighley. Work began on the present building in 1829, but it was not dedicated until 1831, because of a fire that destroyed the contents when it was nearly finished. A number of tombstones were destroyed by vandals in the last few years. Zion Lutheran Church (formerly known as German Lutheran) in Middle Lancaster and Emanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect both broke off from Stone Church in 1842-43, which is why small children are buried here, while their parents are in the newer graveyards.
