The Mayflower Cemetery is owned by the town of Duxbury. The first burial occurred in 1787. The Duxbury Crematory, also owned by the town, is located on the cemetery grounds.
This cemetery is referred to in the book "Vital Records of Duxbury, Massachusetts to 1850", Published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, as G.R.3.
This cemetery is referred to in the book "Old Cemeteries of Southeastern Massachusetts" by Charles M Thatcher as "Old Cemetery at Unitarian Church Duxbury".
