|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The old Easthaven Hospital Cemetery is on part land that was purchased by the city from the hospital to use as fairgrounds. When it was discovered that this was a cemetery, the city re-dedicated this portion and sectioned it off with shrubs and put a stone in memory of the 84 patients who were buried there.
I discovered that this cemetery existed when I was searching for my great great grandfather who died in the hospital. The employees there were so kind as to show me where the cemetery was located so I could take the picture of the stone and also presented me with a book that was published when the re-dedication of the cemetery was done. The book provides some history to the old Easthaven Hospital and also information on the re-dedication of the cemetery.
The Easthaven Hospital is now the Richmond State Hospital.
