Saint Paul's Cemetery of Druid Hill Park
This cemetery in Druid Hill Park was originally called the Lutheran Graveyard.
Some called it German Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery
Last burial was 1974!
Other than Eugene and Betty Coulson, the very last burial here was in 1974.
There are no burials past that date other than the Coulson's.
"Originally, parishioners from three churches, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at Saratoga Street and Fremont Avenue, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church on South Caroline Street, and Martini Lutheran at Henrietta and Sharp streets, shared the burying ground and the financial expense of its maintenance."
Over 1700 people are said to have been buried here.
Martini Lutheran Church and The Friends of Druid Hill Park now keep up the old cemetery.
Because of security, the cemetery gates are locked. Those desiring a tour of St. Paul's can call the church office at 410-752-7817 to schedule a visit.
