The Finnish name for this cemetery is: Ahveniston hautausmaa Hämeenlinna.
It's situated on Ahvenisto ridge near Central Hospital of Kanta-Häme. It was established 1873. The cemetery chapel was built in 1925.
In this cemetery you can also find an area with war heroes' graves, a memorial for civil war victims and a memorial for those, who were buried elsewhere.
Apart from departments for casket burials, there is also a memorial grove, where ashes are buried without the urn. For those buried in the memorial grove it's possible to have a plaque with deceased name on it. The memorial grove was established in 2000. In the grove there is a memorial called "In memoriam" made by artist Annu Eklund.
