|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
There are two Saint Nicholas cemeteries in Jacksonville. This cemetery is predominantly black and is located across from Kuhn's Flowers.
This cemetery is predominately black, holding the remains of some of the earlier black families of Jacksonville. It is believed this cemetery was begun sometime in the 1840s and once had a non-denominational chapel on the property.
Many of the graves are unmarked as well as having a large number of illegible markers. Because of the limited space remaining, only descendants of those already buried here are eligible for the remaining plots.
The cemetery is locked except for weekends and at sporadic times during the week for maintenance.
