Cemetery notes and/or description:
After the Battle of Perryville, the largest battle fought between Union and Confedederate soldier in Kentucky, the battle field was strewn with corpses of both Union and Confederate soldiers. Henry P. Bottoms and his hired hands buried a majority of the Confederate soldiers in two large pits. This mass grave is located in what is now the Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site.
