|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This historic cemetery has been an active cemetery since about 1830 and is still in use today. It is at the site of the Ebenezer Methodist Episcopal Chapel, the "Mother Church" of the St. Mary's Circuit, Baltimore Conference of the M.E. Church. The chapel was first built on the site in the 1820's. Ebenezer was closed after World War II and its congregation was merged with the that of the former Cedar Point M. E. Church [evicted from its home by the U. S. Navy to construct Patuxent River Naval Air Station]. Some graves from Cedar Point M. E. Chapel were moved to Ebenezer during the 1942/43 time period.
The two older congregations merged with a new World War II era congregation - Lexington Park United Methodist Church which inherited the site of Ebenezer Church and its cemetery.
