|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Iola Cemetery was likely at some time in the past known as Saint Louis Cemetery as most all of the relevant death certificates filed into the 1960s named it as such.
This cemetery is found by taking Hwy. 244 from Carlos to Iola. As you enter Iola, just across the highway from the school on the left is CR108. Take this and go to the intersection with CR 103 and take a left. A short distance will be the cemetery on the right with a chain link fence and gate and a newly placed sign.
Apparently, at some time in the past a part of this cemetery, or an adjacent tract, was known as MacCedar Cemetery. It is listed on the Roads of Texas atlas as such and is indicated to be located exactly where Iola/Saint Louis Cemetery is located. Records indicate that primarily very young children were buried in the area identified as MacCedar.
