Description: Richland Cemetery was Founded in 1808 and Organized January 27, 1875. This is not a large cemetery. definitely a country cemetery with a cornfield to the North of the Cemetery. No sign noting the name of the cemetery is visible from St. Rt. 27, although the headstones are clearly visible. The entrance to the cemetery is on W. Clifton; it is fenced in but there were 4 sets of gates for ease of entrance.

Directions:

When traveling from the town of Liberty, take St. Rt. 27 North for about 4 miles and turn left on West Clifton Rd. When coming from Richmond take St Rt 27 South, turn right onto West Clifton Road.

The cemetery is located in Brownsville Township (NE quadrant of the NE quadrant of the SE quadrant of Section 24 Township 14N Range 2W).

Indiana Cemetery Locations, Volume 1, published by the Indiana Genealogical Society (02 April 2005), gives the primary cemetery name as Richmond Cemetery.

The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-81-9 (Richland).
