An except from an e-mail from the Puckett Family Genealogist, Mrs. Virginia Hatten.
"I was taken there by Mr. Hart who had the Hart Store located in front of the cemetery in Nov 1984. Its the Puckett Family Cemetery, Not Puckettville.
S. M. was Samuel Murrell Puckett Sr. He was born in 1799 and died in July 1874
Mary Jane was a Puckett 1808-1857
Bembery (Puckett) 21 July 1878-21 July 1876?
S. Y. (Shawl Yerger Puckett) 3 Aug 1840-2 Feb 1902
M.J. (His Wife) died July 1883
John Colbert Sr. 10 Dec 1879-15 Jan 1937 (shot himself)
S. M Jr. (Shawl Yerger Jr.)31 Oct 1883-5 July 1919
I have no information on the defaced marker. The only one who would have known anything was Red Puckett and he has passed. If you need more information on the Puckett family please contact me. I did a lot of research on them back then. I do remember they were from MS."
