This cemetery is located .35 mile north of Hightower Rd. in a grove of trees on what was the old Ainslie farm. Leaving Madison Georgia on Dixie highway toward Rutledge go about 2 miles from the intersection of Dixie highway and Confederate Rd. to a sign Hightower Rd.". This is the east end of Hightower Rd. Turn right (north) across rail road track and then turn left (west) parallel to the rail road on Hightower Rd. Proceed west .3 mile to the second gate and turn right into the field. Follow the road .35 mile to the cemetery. It is on the right side of the road. The cemetery is dominated by a large obelisk type monument about 15 to 18 feet high. There are eight surface tombs located near the monument. This monument I believe was erected by Amanda Hanson Wood in 1881. On one face of the stone: "In memory of my husband Joseph Wood whose remains are entombed in Stewart Co. GA near those of his first wife Georgia Thornton Wood and their two children John Henry and Joseph Georcion". On the next face: "To the memory of our Father & Mother John W. & Harriet Hanson and their sons W S Hanson aged 19 years J F Hanson aged 57 years.". Below this Amanda H. wife of Joseph Wood.
