REED Cemetery, acc to Survey books of Scott County Cemeteries
Behind a barbed wire fence. An old unpaved path is located to the south, but it is easier to jump the wire than risk getting a vehicle stuck in the path. A wrought iron fence surrounds one section, and there is evidence of a second Northern section, but there it is very overgrown. Southern section is faced with LANCASTER stones, very high quality stones, behind them are REEDS, VALLANDINGHAMS, CORNISHES, etc. Only two COVINGTON stones are readable in the Northern section. We cut vines for three hours, just to get the images posted here, looking for graves that turned out to be across the street.
Note that James and Diana REED produce the daus who mar LANCASTER and VALLANDINGHAM. Thanks to descendant Jeanne Marshall of CA for clarifying this.
Private cemetery for James & Diana REED and family. Their home was still standing when a county history was published.
