|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Allison Cemetery is located on private land in a wooded area just west of a field located south of US Highway 40 just southwest of Woodbury, Illinois. The road entrance to the field is on the south side of US 40 about 1/4 mile east of County Road 800 E. The road crosses some railroad tracks and then stops and one must then walk along the west side of the field to get to the cemetery. The cemetery consists of three Allison graves each with a headstone and footstone. The graves are in a heavily wooded area with a lot of underbrush so using a GPS device would be the easiest way to find its location. The three Allisons buried here are a father and two daughters who all died in June and July of 1839, probably from a disease that struck the family.
