|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
In the summer of 2007, developers discovered an unnamed small family cemetery west of Memorial Drive and north of 111th Street So. With camera in hand, I made my way to the site. The development is bordered by a large brick wall and also divided in three parts by the same type of wall. Two of the three sections are currently being developed but the section containing this cemetery is not. I don't know if this is because of the presence of the cemetery or not but I sure it fowled up their plans, somewhat.
After a little Research in the Tulsa Genealogical Center I found that this cemetery should probably be called the Alice (Burgess) Williams cemetery because it is located on the 160 acre quarter section she was allotted by the Creek Nation. It is the SE corner of Section 26 of T18N & R13E.
The next section directly north, section 23, contains the allotments of Alice's mother Kizzie Loler who is buried here and Ben Haikey, father of Wesley Haikey who is also buried here. Directly south in sections 35 & 36 are the allotments of Mary and Jeremiah Morrison, the parents of James and Bessie Morrison, buried here.
