Brandenburg Cemetery
Foster
Bracken County
Kentucky  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
This cemetery was given "pioneer" status by the Kentucky Historical Society in 2002 based on one of the occupants having been born in Kentucky before 1800 (James Hughbanks). According to eyewitness accounts from the 1970's there are at least 20 people buried here although many of the stones are gone or broken beyond repair. It sits on the former Brandenburg/Hughbanks/Rheinhamer farm and is a family cemetery only. It is also in serious need of repair. The family attempted repair a few years ago, but a 1950's car is still sitting in the middle of the cemetery and the owner refuses to allow its removal. This cemetery is located at the top of a steep hill near Foster just off the AA highway in Bracken County. Due to present owner's stance on trespassing, there is no reasonable entrance path. I have instructions if you would like to hike (literally) to the top of the hill. Since all cemeteries are protected under Kentucky law including the allowance of family to pay their respects, contact me personally for specific directions. The approach road off of AA is Kennon which is gravel and hard to navigate let alone park for assent.
