Cemetery notes and/or description:
The cemetery is located on the land that surrounds the Mattituck Presbyterian Church on Main Road (Route 25), just west of Love Lane.
On this land, there are technically two separate cemeteries. There is no fence separating the two and they look like an old and new part of one cemetery. The is the Old Bethany Cemetery, sometimes referred to as Bethany Cemetery and the "Old Church Cemetery", also referred to as the Mattituck Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mattituck Parish Cemetery, as well as a few other similar names.
The Old Church Cemetery, is inactive and has no new burials and the church is responsible for its care. The Old Bethany Cemetery comes under the purview of the Bethany Cemetery Association - but that Association does not "own" the Old Church Cemetery - the church does.
