|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
New Hope Friends Burial Ground (New Hope FBG), was acquired (one acre) by the Society of Friends, on 29 Mar 1810, from David Faulkner. The first recorded burial was 14 Jan 1814. New Hope Friends was Laid Down (closed) 5 Aug 1933. On 14 Aug 1935, this property was transferred by the Society of Friends to Caesarscreek Township, Greene Co., Ohio.
New Hope is about 1/2 mile west of Paintersville, Caesarscreek Twp., Greene Co., Ohio and located on the south side of Spring Valley-Paintersville Rd. and west of the intersection with Faulkner Rd.
Quaker Cemetery and Paintersville Cemetery are two documented alternate names, although these alternate names have never been reflected in the property deeds or church records.
Because there are many interments with the surname Haines in New Hope, locals may have called it Haines Cemetery, but no official record has been found to confirm this name. As such, this cemetery's name was erroneously listed as Haines in 2012, and in 2013 was corrected to reflect New Hope by Find-A-Grave.
