At the time, this mental hospital was self-sufficent, the mental patients lived and worked there. It started in 1924. There are no birth dates only death dates noted.
There is a north and south part of the cemetery. The Roman Catholics in the north and the Protestants in the south part.They are marked P and C, with a plot no beside the letter.
NOTE: Only 38 of the 1300 people in here have markers. The patients and staff from the hospital were intered in Chronological order in either the Protestant or Catholic section of the cemetery depending on their religious preference.
Located just north of and abutting Hillcrest Cemetery, this cemetery was used for the patients who passed away while in the care of the Saskatchewan Mental Hospital.
The City of Weyburn now maintains the Cemetery and only has records of the names, dates of death and locations of the people interred in the Cemetery.
