|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Aderton Cemetery is located in Brussels, Calhoun County, Illinois. It is not maintained and is accessible only after the crops have been harvested.
There is no fence and the cemetery has no sign. Most of the stones are covered in brush and high weeds; many are no longer standing in their original positions.
After parking in Brussels, one must walk approximately one-half to three-fourths of a mile through farm fields towards a distant stand of trees. The stones are scattered amidst the trees and vegetation.
In general, the markers are grouped by families and are arranged roughly in rows. Upon entering the cemetery from the west, the first stones belong primarily to members of the Gilbert family. Towards the center and east are tombstones for the Aderton family. Most markers for the Wallendorf family are located in the northern part of the cemetery.
