Cemetery notes and/or description: This cemetery was first cataloged in 1947. It was originally referred to as The Hill Crest Cemetery. As the cemetery was at one time located on the Stephens Farm, it has also been referred to as The Stephens Cemetery. The Carroll County, Tennessee Cemetery Book mistakenly refers to it as the 'McKenzie Cemetery (Old)'. It is located about 300 yards behind the old Keco Milling Co. on the McKenzie - Gleason Highway. Easier excess can be obtain from Highway 124 (McKenzie-Greenfield Highway) behind and across a field Northeast of the address 8289 Hwy 124. The cemetery was vandalized at one time and the three above ground brick crypts that were once there are now gone. Most of the other monuments have been destroyed also. The four main families that are buried here are: Gilbert, Stephens, Allen, and Scott. Also recorded in the Weakley County Cemetery Book for this cemetery are the names that are inscribed on a ‘Randle Family' monument that was at one time in place here. Some of the Randles inscribed on the monument are buried at this location and some are not. All will be entered with an explanation.
