Cemetery notes and/or description: This is a very rural, but well-maintained cemetery.
Directions:
From the Junction of Highway 54 and Highway 169 east of Iola, Kansas.
1. Go North on Highway 169 for 5 miles to Texas Road.
2. Turn East on Texas Road 2-1/2 miles to 2200th St.
3. Turn North on 2200th St. for 1 mile to Utah Road.
4. Turn East on Utah Road for 1/4 mile. The cemetery is on the North side of the road.
History:
On June 8, 1872, Thomas J. & Eliza Day, deeded to Deer Creek Township, 2 acres to be a free and permanent graveyard. On October 11, 1888, Rebecca Garrett deeded land to Deer Creek Township for an addition to the cemetery.
Location:
Pleasant Valley Cemetery is located 3 miles North, 4 miles East, and 1 mile North of Iola, Kansas in Allen County, in the Southwest Quarter of Section 28, Township 23, Range 19.
