Cemetery notes and/or description: Donmyer Cemetery is located in the Northeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 1, Township 14, Range 2, (Greeley Township). It is on Stimmel Road, just west of the intersection of Niles and Stimmel Roads.
Lewis Donmyer settled in Saline County, Kansas around 1870. He was 72 years old, and most of his large family came with him from Pennsylvania. He and other members of his family bought land in and around the new settlement, New Cambria, which was named for Cambria County, PA. Lewis Donmyer was reared a Lutheran and was liberal with his donations to the church. He donated ground for a church and burying ground in Pennsylvania. In Saline County, he donated the land for the Donmyer Private Burying Ground. In 1903 Elizabeth Donmyer, widow of Lewis, deeded this plot to the Donmyer Cemetery Association.
