Originally called "St. Michael - Gottes Acker" which means "God's Acre", St. Michael was establised in 1851 and uses 48 acres and has approximately 40,000 burials.(cemeteries@archlou.org)
This cemetery does not have an onsite office. There is one office that covers the 3 Catholic cemeteries in Louisville, Ky. They charge a fee for grave locations if you go into the office with a list. If you call them on the phone they will give you the location for free.
