|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Horton Cemetery is difficult to reach. Turn north off of Highway 65 in Marshall Arkansas onto Zack Road. Zack Road becomes Zack Ridge Road. From the turn off on Highway 65, continue for 7.7 miles. The last 3.9 miles is a gravel road. Park in the old abandoned home site (35 deg 59.446 min N, 92 deg 41.751 min W). Walk north through the old home site. Off to the west is an abandoned road. It is very difficult to see. Walk just over one quarter of a mile up the road to the cemetery. The cemetery is best found with a GPS.
The cemetery was abandoned around 1950 when the Buffalo National River Park was established. There is only one monument with a recognizable name. There are several flat rocks, which were used as monuments. The names were most likely scratched onto the rocks, but these have worn away with time.
