Cemetery notes and/or description: History: In 1844 the late Robert McCray donated the land which was to become the McCray Church and Cemetery. The Church which still stands today (2008) was completed in 1845. The first church services were held in September of that year. All of the original Church and Cemetery records were destroyed about 1920 when the home of Glenn McCray caught on fire. In 1952 Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Durham created the first known index of this cemetery. A second survey was done by Dennis R. Davis in October 1991. Many of the stones read on those two dates are either gone, missing or vandalized.
