|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The first eight men buried in the Bush Knob Cemetery were killed December 4, 1873 in what many called the Bush Knob Massacre. A possie of ranches and soldiers out of Ft. Griffin, Texas went after them for stealing cattle. The story differs depending on who is telling it, but the end result was eight dead men. The graves are unmarked but it is known where they are buried.
