Cemetery notes and/or description: This cemetery is located on the Eastern city limits of the City of Waelder, South of US Highway 90 and 75 feet North of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, just to the West of the intersection of US Highway 90 and Farm-to-Market Highway 1680. In 1874 the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonio Railroad set aside two acres on the north side of the railroad right-of-way just to the west of the section house to be used as a negro cemetery. Much later the City of Waelder purchased the tract where the section house once stood from the Texas and New Orleans Railroad to add additional area to the cemetery. This cemetery is located on the opposite end of town from the (white) Waelder Cemetery.
There are a number of unidentifiable graves in this cemetery. This cemetery inventory is complete as of August 22, 2013.
