|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery, one of our oldest (24 listed names with dates ranging from 1790 to 1885 plus many others with no headstones), is located within the borders of Pisgah State Park.
To get to Latham Beal Cemetery, continue on from the Taylor Black burying ground to Pisgah Park. (You will not be able to drive from here on) The burying ground is about a one mile walk into the park. Maps are usually available inside the park gate. Beal's road is the trail to take, which is on your right a little way up from the main gate. It is well marked. You will pass Beal's knob and turn right down 'Beal's Road'. The cemetery is on the right. This hike, depending on the season, is a moderate/short trek requiring good boots, walking shoes, bug dope and water.
