|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Carrington cemetery is on a former terrace at the crest of the hill and below the home site and has only two clearly visible & inscribed stones. There are numerous other depressions which mark other family graves. The lack of inscribed stones may have reflected the thinking that in death all become equal in the eyes of The Lord? Old boxwood trees as seen on the photo mark the former entrance path. They are much overshadowed by trees that are filling the terrace. Notes from a report given by a subsequent owner, Dr. Kell
“, place an older "Coles" cemetery behind the dismantled home, the graves of which were marked with uninscribed field stones. For many years the graves were protected by a stone wall. There is now no visible evidence of its existence." When I visited the site in 2013 the former Coles cemetery was covered with un cut grass and weeds.- (Jim Hutcheson)
