White Cemetery
Also known as: Lacey Plantation Cemetery
St. Clair County
Illinois  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Located on the north edge of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 2 Township 1 South, Range 9 West, Milstadt Township, St Clair Co., IL. It is located northeast of Millstadt off Route 158 on Mine Haul Road.

According to an inventory take in the 1930's: "The first grave was that of a child of an immigrant who died while the family was enroute to the west, and the child was buried on this prairie spot. The people who lived in this vicinity then made it their burying ground."

This cemetery is in a heavily over grown area and can not easily be found. The stones are broken and have been used for target practice. This cemetery is a disgrace to St. Clair County and the State of Illinois. It is no way to preserve the final resting place of the early pioneers to the area and member of the 1st Legislature of the State of Illinois.
