|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Ebenezer Cemetery is located in Section 36 of Marion Township, 5 miles northeast of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. In the lower southeast corner of Marion Township, there was a neighborhood composed of rural families. It was known as the old Ebenezer neighborhood. There was a church, a school house, and a blacksmith shop. South of the old church was established a neighborhood burial ground called Ebenezer Cemetery. The Old Ebenezer Church was eventually abandoned and torn down, as was the blacksmith shop and the school house. Ebenezer Cemetery is now located in the center of a pasture, 1/8 mile north of 215th Street. The first burial found was for 1851. It is a pioneer cemetery, which means there have been no burials in over fifty years.
