|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The cemetery was laid out by members of the Hickman family in 1828 on the grounds of the farm and mansion of Richard Riley Hickman. It was to remain as a cemetery under the care of the Hickman family and its trustees in perpetuity. In 1882, Rebecca Hickman Jefferis, had a low (20") stone wall built to enclose the cemetery. It was built by John Garrett and John Burns.
Though the grounds are still surrounded by the stone wall, the land has since been developed, and a house now occupies the ground.
Five remains, all members of the Hickman family, were removed in 1974 to Bradford Cemetery, Marshallton. The others still remain here.
