Cemetery notes and/or description:
On September 1, 1744, Daniel Garrett, Sr. and Sarah Garrett deeded to Daniel Garrett, Jr. dutiful son, planter, land lying in the fork of Connabee Creek, 150 acres. Part of the tract of three hundred acres granted to Edward Moseley, September 29, 1713, and assigned by Edward Moseley to John Barrow, April 1, 1714, which said 300 acres became the proper estate of James Barrow, the former husband of the aforementioned Sarah, bequeathed to her, Sarah, by her husband, James Barrow.

This Baily's island was later called Garrett's island. The old Garrett home was said to be the first frame house in the county, and on it is also the old Garrett burying ground, known as Garrett's Home Island Burying Ground. The oldest tombstone standing records the birth of Joseph Garrett, September 24, 1769, died July 4, 1835.
